Joe Bonasera is a zealous advocate focused on the defense of immigrants in deportation and criminal proceedings. After graduating cum laude from the University of Arizona College of Law in 2018, he worked for the Pima County Public Defender as a trial attorney handling a wide array of criminal cases ranging from DUI to homicide. As a public defender, Joe focused on representing non-citizens facing potential deportation. He is well-versed in minimizing the immigration consequences of criminal cases, through both litigation and plea negotiations.
Joe strives to handle his cases both aggressively and pragmatically. While he feels most at home in the courtroom, Joe is also well-versed in using motion practice and pretrial interviews to resolve cases in his client’s favor. He combines his experience with a commitment to maintaining fruitful and respectful relationships with his clients.
Since joining Green Evans-Schroeder in 2023, Joe has dedicated himself to removal defense and continuing his criminal defense of noncitizens. He hopes to learn more about the law every day, so he can provide the best representation possible.
